Robber - hand puppet for babies by Sterntaler
Sterntaler baby hand puppet robber, green pointed hat with a red band, a navy top and a beard
Sterntaler baby hand puppet robber, back view with a green pointed hat and a wooden dagger at the belt
Description
Hardly any character makes right and wrong as easy to play out as the robber: he takes something, gets caught, and the story decides how it ends. The robber hand puppet by Sterntaler wears a green pointed hat and has a stubbly, bearded face.
In German Kasperle theatre the robber is one of the stock characters, usually facing Kasper and the policeman as his opponents. Whoever takes something sets the plot going, and whoever steps in brings it to an end. Robbers play a very similar part in fairy tales too, for instance as the band of robbers driven out of their house by the Bremen Town Musicians.
Did you know that the robber appears in six of the eight stories on Sterntaler's CD Kasperle-Geschichten 2? That makes him one of the characters needed most often there. Small wonder: wherever something goes missing, Kasper has work to do.
