Delight the dog lover in your family with the sweet Folkmanis Labradoodle hand puppet. Full of playful personality, animate mouth and head to fall fully in love with this remarkably realistic pup-pet, your new best friend.
The Labradoodle began in Australia in 1989, when the breeding manager of a guide dog programme crossed a Labrador Retriever with a standard poodle. The aim was a guide dog for a woman whose husband reacted to dog hair. From the Labrador come the appetite for work and the love of water, from the poodle the curly coat that sheds little. Depending on the poodle parent, a Labradoodle turns out small, medium or sturdy, with a coat from softly waved to tightly curled. The major kennel clubs still do not recognise it as a breed, yet it is bred all over the world.
Did you know that the poodle started out as a hunting dog? Its German name comes from an old word for splashing about, since it retrieved shot ducks from ponds and lakes. The famous clip left chest and joints covered while freeing the rest of the body in the water.
