Easter puppets for the egg hunt

In the UK and many other European countries, the Easter Bunny hides eggs for children to find on Easter Sunday. A finger puppet or a small hand puppet in the Easter basket turns into a helper for the hunt, and someone to share the chocolate with.

Rabbit, hare or bunny?

The Easter Bunny goes back to the German Osterhase, which is a hare, yet most children know rabbits far better. You will find both here: long-eared hares and jackrabbits, lop-eared rabbits with drooping ears, and a rabbit in a lettuce that comes with three finger puppets.

Chicks, hens and spring lambs

Lambs are born in spring and chicks hatch from eggs, so both have long been part of Easter. A chick finger puppet fits easily into an Easter basket, and with a hen and a rooster as hand puppets children can act out who laid all those eggs.

Rabbits for cuddling

If the present is meant more for cuddling than for playing, there are rabbits as soft toys too.
