Platypus Hand Puppet - Hansa Creation

During storytelling, the platypus hand puppet by Hansa Creation can easily be worked into small scenes. It also suits puppet theatre and simple role playing games. Play often turns into new animal themed stories.

The platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus) is one of only five egg-laying mammals in the world. It lives along freshwater bodies in eastern Australia and Tasmania. Using electroreceptors in its bill, it locates prey underwater. Males possess a venomous spur on their hind legs. It feeds on insect larvae, worms and crustaceans.

Did you know that when the platypus was first discovered in 1799, scientists thought it was a hoax? British researchers suspected someone had sewn a duck's bill onto a beaver's pelt — so unbelievable did this creature appear.
